The Youghiogheny Lake, located 8 miles from the Yough Plaza Motel is one of the best water recreation areas in the state of Pennsylvania. It offers everything from fishing to water skiing and jet skiing.
The Youghiogheny Lake is over 16 miles long and it half a mile wide at it's widest point. This makes it an excellent power boating and water skiing lake. On a nice summer day, it is not uncommon to see people going back and forth across the lake enjoying it's cool waters and relaxing summer breezes.
The Youghiogheny Lake is also well known for excellent fishing. Popular game species include Large and Small Mouth Bass, Crappie, Perch, Walleye, Pike and Muskellunge. The lake is subject to all of the fishing rules and regulations set forth by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. We highly recommend going to their site to be properly informed.
