Cucumber Rapid On The Lower Youghiogheny

Within walking distance of the Yough Plaza Motel is the mighty Youghiogheny River, which flows through the heart of Ohiopyle State Park. Within the state park, you can raft two sections of the Youghiogheny, the family friendly and very scenic Middle Youghiogheny, or the Lower Youghiogheny, for the more adventurous boaters. We highly recommend that you take a guided tour with White Water Adventurers, a local outfitter which has been safely guiding guests down the river for over 30 years.

The Middle Youghiogheny is a class 1 and 2 river which makes in an excellent choice for families with small children or timid individuals who don't quite feel ready for the Lower. The Lower Youghiogheny is a class 3 and 4 river with rapids hard enough to challenge veteran river runners, yet not so hard as to intimidate beginning rafters.
